Our adversaries understand our dependence upon space-based capabilities, and we must be ready to detect, track, characterize, attribute, predict, and respond to any threat to our space infrastructure,” he said. That’s long winded but means the next war will be fought in space and on earth. China’s shoot down of one of its deep space satellites a year ago has focused the issue.

HAPPY TRADITIONAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY. Saint Patrick (Latin: Patricius, Irish: Naomh Pádraig) was a Christian missionary and is the patron saint of Ireland along with Brigid of Kildare and Columba. It is much more likely that St. Patrick used the three-leafed Shamrock to teach the Trinity, as in te Nicene Creed opposed to the popular if contrary Arian nontrionitarian idea. There is no proof of the enduring Shamrock legend. 

By the 8^th century he had become the patron saint of Ireland. March 17^th is believed to be the date of Patrick’s death and why his festival is usually that date. This year St. Patrick’s Day falls during HOLY WEEK so it was officially celebrated March 14^th.

Retired US Air Force General Merrill McPeak believes Iran hates America because of President Bush’s “tough talk”. Truth is indeed stranger than fiction. I mean, you just can’t make stuff this good up! It is scary that someone this, well, dumb, could rise to a position of power and importance.

McPeak was the Air Force’s Chief of Staff and a member of the Joint Chiefs during the first Bush’s presidency. He claims that Iran is behaving the way they are because President Bush talks tough about them and insults them. Before President Bush they weren’t any problem. He even seems to defend Iran. “Iran is a big enemy of al Qaeda,” said McPeak. He said, “They were a big enemy of the Taliban. They cooperated with us quite completely in the initial phases of our Afghanistan operation.” So Iran cooperated with us, according to McPeak.

The Afghanistan operations he refers to didn’t begin until after the 9/11 attacks. Keep that in mind because McPeak went on to say, “…it was us that insulted them by including them in the ‘axis of evil’ and making sure they understood we didn’t like them very much.”

The ‘axil of evil’ statement was made by President Bush after the 9/11 attacks. McPeak can’t have it both ways. Frank Gaffney, was a Pentagon policymaker in the Ronald Reagan administration and now heads the Center for Security Policy. Gaffney said, “With all due respect to Gen. McPeak, what drives the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran apart-and has since 1979-is the unwavering antipathy of the regime in Tehran towards teh United States, its ally Israel and freedom-loving, non-Islamist nations more generally.”

It was Iran that overthrew our embassy and held US citizens hostage for over a year during Jimmy Carter’s presidency. It was Iran then that named the US the ‘great satan’. It is Iran that has promised the complete destruction of Israel and the US. All this long before the current President Bush included them in the ‘axis of evil’.

McPeak is Obama’s senior military advisor. Obama has said that he would meet with Iranian leader Ahmadinejad, without pre-conditions. Yeah, McMillan met with Hitler and flaunted the “agreement” he reached with him. Don’t know who I’m talking about? Look it up. What were the consequences of that niave’ leader meeting with a murderous tyrant?

Twenty-four centuries ago Democritus proposed “atoms” (a Greek word) as the smallest building block of all things. Little more a half century ago Einstein, in 1939, proposed building an “atomic” super bomb. Scarcely 20-years later, and when atomic bombs proliferated, another American physicist proposed “There’s Plenty of Room at the Bottom” (of the molecule) and opened the way to the next super weapon.

In 1986 Eric Drexler Ph. D. (1955- ) wrote “Engines of Creation” proposing a new generation of super “nano-weapons” so destructive as to transcend the nuclear.

“Nano” means one-one billionth of one meter and Drexler’s posit is that a molecule can be converted into a super microscopic computer that can self-multiply and be engineered to seek out and destroy a technology.

In the West, at least, there is no Manhattan Project for post-nuclear super weapons. Skeptics say that while nano-technologies are perfectly possible making weapons of them is highly speculative and Drezler is naïve. Proponents say that is Pollyannaish, and if wrong, could result in clouds of microscopic weapons unleashed to prowl the air and oceans rendering today’s technologies moot and targets defenseless.

Barack “B.S.” Obama scored a TKO (technical knockout) over Hillary Clinton in the 20^th debate, since February 28^th last year. Clinton did not score many points – certainly no touchdowns. Overall it was a “rope-a-dope.” Frankly it sounded like Clinton has accepted defeat. Obama jabbed and jabbed as only champions can do keeping Hillary at bay, and really didn’t have to throw risky punches which he did not. Overall tedious, silly, a waste of time and place.

Hillary has still not figured out she is NOT the “champion” — she is not and she must win the championship belt, and she did not.

Tom Buffenbarger of the Machinists Union, and Hillary Clinton surrogate, blasted Barack Obama by saying Obama is a “Shadowboxer”, “Nose in the Air Pontificator” and “Silver Toungued Warrior.” Buffenbarger said Obama was not with us on the picket line, in the Illinois or U. S. Senate and we are still waiting him to show up. “GIVE ME A BREAK!” he shouted; Obama won’t last one round against the Republicans.
