Edwards (D)

Racist Liberal Democrats?

Blacks can be racist too.I never thought I would see this. Not only is the Democratic race starting to turn nastier but now the Obama supporters are saying the Clinton group is continuing to be racist. How ironic….

The latest hoopla is over a statement by former VP candidate Geraldine Ferraro, a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton. She said “If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.” You wouldn’t think anyone would consider that to be racist. Ask John Edwards or any of the other qualified white males who fell by the wayside early in the Democratic race. They were all more experienced than Obama or even Hillary but could not compete against the uniqueness of a woman or a black candidate. Only a minority could compete against another minority. Pointing this out isn’t racist, simply realistic. Yet the Obama supporters don’t see it that way. Or perhaps they are trying to twist it to their own advantage. In either case, a number of Obama supporters, including senior advisor David Axelrod are crying racist, asking for an apology and for Ferraro to step down from her position on Clinton finance committee. The professional campaigners on both Obama and Clinton staffs will probably be able to put this all aside and unite together when one of them is finally picked as their candidate. But to the rank and file supporters this is becoming personal. The nastier it gets, the more they take it to heart and resent the other side. And the latest Rasmussen polls are starting to show this trend. It could very well be that McCain might win simply because either the Obama or Clinton supporters were so disillusioned and bitter over their primary loss that they gave up and didn’t vote at all.

Meanwhile the Republicans will sit back while the Democrats tear their party apart. And many Republicans might think that even though McCain wasn’t their first or even second choice they are relieved that we have a candidate and can avoid the bitter fights that the Democrats are experiencing. And to think, a good part of it is because one Democratic group is calling another Democratic group racist. I suppose if you live long enough you will see just about anything…..

DIAGNOSIS: HYPOCRISY

Snark, Snark I have decided to blog here because a blog about hypocrisy will never run out of material. You might think otherwise. You might say, “Well, Snark, I manage to survive without saying one thing and doing the exact opposite, most days, why can’t the politicians?”

CHANGE

See the Change?Change. It seems to be the most recent political buzz-word. As far as I can tell each and every candidate running for president has talked about and promised change.

Change. Yep, they all claim that America needs change, particularly in Washington, D.C. What makes this amazing is that three of the top four candidates, Clinton (both), Obama and McCain are all current members of the United States Senate. I do agree that if there is any entity in Washington that needs change it is the Senate.

McCain and Clinton Won Florida with Consequences

Tsunami Tuesday Feb 5, 2008McCain won Florida Tuesday; Romney was second despite spending millions, Giuliani was a fading third followed by a distant Huckabee and inconsequential Paul. Rudy Giuliani quit immediately after the results were posted and endorsed John McCain Wednesday. Clinton beat Obama and Edwards neither of whom campaigned in Florida. Democrat John Edwards also dropped his campaign Wednesday morning. Speculation is Edwards has made a deal to be Attorney General or maybe for an Ambassadorship.

Edwards won among Richer White Men, How Embarrasing

Rich White MenTo no ones particular surprise but in what was the most racially split statewide vote since Civil War Reconstruction Barrack Obama trounced Hillary Clinton by more than two to one leaving Edwards lost in the South Carolina dust Saturday. Clinton won the less educated and poorer vote. Obama overwhelmingly won among the young, college educated and blacks. Edwards won among white men.

South Carolin Broke the Laws of Illegal Discriminations

Discrimination reevaluationsAnd Barack broke the curse of all candidates of not winning a majority, proceeding to resoundingly trounce Hillary 2 to 1 with some 18% going to the Native Son Edwards who is very encouraged at the results of his taking the high road, positioning himself as the adult who will stay in the national campaign and is on good financial footing. Have you noticed that in unequal ways, candidates in pursuit of voters and even voters themselves have a legal advantage which if attempted can get employers and murders in BIG trouble? What’s with that?

Michican Dems Divided in Myrtle Beach Debates Jan 21, 2008

Myrtle Beach? It started out as as an Irish slug fest between Hillary and Bill, and Barack, who complained about also having to compete with the previous president who was joining his wife in misinforming voters about Baracks history. They each landed political punches, he said while he was helping the poor in Chicago she was sitting pretty (my words) on the Board of Directors at WalMart Corporations. She said while she was fighting against the policies of Ronald Reagan he was helping his slum lord in Chicago.

South Carolina is the Showdown for Obama and Hillary

Thank you Abraham Lincoln and Martin LutherHillary Clinton won Nevada popular vote as predicted in most polls which could give her a pop in South Carolina. Obama got 13 delegates to Hillary’s 12 due to Nevada contortions so maybe it was a draw. If Obama doesn’t beat her in South Carolina next weekend — she seems destined. Next week’s Democrat South Carolina primary would be a very important win for Obama, and a nomination winning upset for Clinton. Edwards got a miserable 4% of the Nevada vote and it’s hard to see his resurrection but he’ll likely spend every taxpayer matching dime he can get his hands on to salve his gargantuan ego.

Which Candidate Can Prove The Most CHANGE?

More happens than you knowPicture this: The six leading candidates in both parties getting together, pitching their spare change into one of those games where you use a crane controlled from outside the glass enclosure in order to get coins to drop out into a tray. It’s popular at many family restaurants in parts of the country. Dreamy isn’t it. Bipartisan agreement.

John Words Runs out of…..

Bronze is goodWords and Money.

And what happens in Vegas may not stay in Vegas.

John Edwards is the third man in a two person race.

He did say he got his BUTT kicked in Vegas, and it wasn’t even by George Bush.

Hillary Understands How the West Was Won

Drum by DrumHillary overcame the casino workers endorsement of Obama in Nevada, to secure a real but not overwhelming win. Her voice was strained but she is definitely on a roll in and after the casino state.

After the Clinton and Obama first tier win in Nevada, the other tier of Edwards, Uncommitted and Kucinich picked up a few votes, but the Democratic race is narrowing to Clinton and Obama, with the odds in favor of Hillary and the Clinton machine.

Despite that, the recent political incorrectness over Martin Luther King may be a long shadow on the rivalry to play out next week in the Dem Primaries in South Carolina, then Florida and of course followed by Super Tuesday states.

Non candidates are observing carefully, looking for an opening. Chief amongst them is our very own Chief Hypocrite who is one of the less well know candidates feeling the pull of the disenchanted. The Chief, however, is most worried when he notices that Bill Clinton continues to show enthusiastic support for the “best candidate he (Bill) has ever known”. Even the Chief has limitations.

Uncommitted Firmly Wins Second Place by Mich Dems

No one can say women, minorities or the great, vast uncommitted are discriminated against in America. THEY TOOK SECOND PLACE in Michigan Dem Primary!

Three Democratic Candidates Agree There Was No Piling On, Nor any Race or Gender Baiting and by the way, the White Lawyer is not the Rich White guy all the jokes are written about.

I am just the best candidateWhew. Glad that is all behind us.

During the Las Vegas debate discussion tonight, an impudent spectator yelled “these are race bating questions”.

Airship Kucinich may land in Michigan Today

The egg is committed, the chicken is just involvedThe Michigan Dem Kids disobeyed the mother ship and Dennis Kucinich is real excited, he thinks it is a sign.

As a result of political posturing after punishment administered by Papa Howard Dean & Company to the Mich Dems, O’bama and Edwards are not on the ticket. It no longer matters since part of the punishment for holding a Jan 15 primary instead of holding one after the Feb 5 Super Tuesday Primaries as instructed, THEIR DELEGATES WILL NOT BE COUNTED AT THE CONVENTION. Excuse the shouting, but that seems, well, UnDemocratic.

PALMETTO POLITICS

Palmetto StateThursday night the surviving six Republican presidential candidates debated at Myrtle Beach. South Carolina where John McCain is leading in the polls. Second-by-second tracking showed Huckabee and Thompson at the top and Paul at the bottom. Huckabee had perhaps the best line saying, “As the Air Force used to say; if you’re not catching flak you’re not over the target – so I must be over the target.” Thompson attacked Huckabee and some think as a longtime friend of McCain he’s decided if he can not win he will help McCain.

Dems Hang a Left

Too Far?So far Democrat voters have been concentrated on the far left. The notion that a community organizer from Chicago who has done nothing substantive in his life can be president is laughable. Or that a little weepy talk/crying jag can become an asset is also a window into the feminization of the Democratic Party. Edwards will stay in as he has no other option except learning to chew plug tobacco at the fish camp near his house. The odds are still with Hillary.

January is Not OVER YET

Caucuses before Super TuesdayOne thing is clear — tactically almost anyone running for anything in November 2008 better have a strong strategy for women and younger voters.

Next up are January 15: Michigan; January 19: Nevada, South Carolina (R); January 26: South Carolina (D) and January 29:
Florida. It is probable Clinton will win in Nevada where she is well ahead – but Obama just got the endorsement of
Nevada’s biggest labor unions and he could pull it out.
Hillary is still prowling the political battlefield poking at staffer wounds amid her downward spiral in the national polls. The axe was sharpened but stuck in a stump after the
New Hampshire win waiting to see how much bounce she gets.

Newsmax John LeBoutillier on New Hampshire

Kiss kissNewsmax’s John LeBoutillier gives this gritty post
New Hampshire assessment paraphrased as follows: McCain’s support is among the so-called mainstream media, independent voters, and a thin slice of Democrats. Romney is an empty suit – when you look deep into his eyes all you see is the back of his head. Huckabee is a damn good candidate but he doesn’t have broad enough support. Ron Paul isn’t getting anywhere. Fred Thompson is a political dead man. Hizzoner Rudy is fading fast. Maybe the Republican candidate hasn’t even started yet.

48 States and We’re back to the Future

JohnWords (D)John Edwards said that after Iowa he congratulated Hills and the Obomer (although I did not see that in his speech my self) and after this New Hampshire Primary where he slipped even further from the two front runners, he congratulated them again. He said 99% of the voters in 48 more states still have to speak and they will hear his message and he will become the next President of the United States.
