What is the Mission of Planned Parent Hood?

Recently a a black minister said that Planned Parenthood was begun by Margaret Sanger, and that she was a favorite speaker at KKK gatherings who wanted to eradicate blacks. He said they commit genocide on blacks, receive funding from Congress, place their offices in black neighborhoods and convert those who come there for counseling, away from condom use and other family child placement services and guide them toward abortions.
Planned Parenthood has always been supported by liberal elements and bashed by mostly religious conservative activists. This charge was made by a black minister, who statistically is in a group that will vote for Barack Obama, and failing his nomination, for Hillary, who by belonging to the Democratic Party, is part of the traditional supporters of Planned Parenthood. It will be interesting to see if that support erodes. I have supported them in general but was unaware of this kind of ancestry nor these charges.
Now here is my question, as I was flabbergasted to hear the charges. Is Planned Parenthood a valuable social service that deserves to continue to receive public funding?
I have no idea if anything on this link is true, but since its on the internet, why wouldn’t it be? It is an interesting diatribe and I would appreciate any comments that can add to or clarify her role and these accusations.

So, what happened in Pennsylvania, last night? Did the groundhog see its shadow? Rest assured that today’s Ten Post Round-Up makes no mention of the shenanigans going on in Pennsylvania, but the rest of the world is fair game:

PINOCCHIOBAMA
Pinocchiobama – in 1996, Barack Obama’s campaign answered a questionnaire saying he favored bans on manufacturing and selling of guns, opposed parental notification of abortions for minors, and opposed the death penalty. When asked about that, Obama threw his campaign staff under the bus, claiming the staff had sent in the questionnaire. He issued a blanket denial that he had ever held those positions. Except that is not true. As Human Events RedState noted, a review of the actual questionnaire shows “that [Obama] reviewed the answers closely revising some of the answers in his own handwriting.”
Obama claims to be the only one willing to re-engage the Taliban. He faults the Bush Administration for depleting the number of military personnel in Afghanistanand claims we need to increase the number of ground forces to 92,000 troops, something Obama says the Bush administration is opposed to. Funny how Secretary of Defense Robert Gates offered the exact same policy prescription and number of troops back in 2007. Obama said, “John McCain got upset today apparently because I had repeated exactly what he said, which is that we might be there [Iraq] for 100 years if he had his way.” Only, that is another lie. As RedState documented, the Washington Post’s FactCheck, the Annenberg Public Policy Center’s nonpartisan FactCheck.org, and the Columbia Journalism Review all report Obama’s words were grossly misleading. The Annenberg Public Policy Center called Obama’s statement a “serious distortion to the point of rank falsehood.” In Pennsylvania, Obama is running a television ad saying, “I’m Barack Obama. I don’t take money from oil companies or Washingtonlobbyists, and I won’t let them block change anymore.” Fact is no federal candidate can accept money from a corporation – no one. But, Obama has dodged that law cashing $213,000 in checks from oil company employees. Obama conceded Saturday that his comments about working class voters who cling to guns or religion were “ill chosen.” Others point to his remarks as insightful of his core beliefs.
One in four U. S. teen girls have VD
One in every four teenage girls in U.S. has at least one of the most common venereal diseases, according to a recent study conducted by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Based on the study, the authors conservatively estimate that 3.2 million American teenage girls are infected with VD. The authors say that the total number might actually a bit higher since venereal diseases like Syphilis, HIV and Gonorrhea were not included in the analysis. More than 3 million are infected. The incidence is highest among black American teen aged girls. The infection rate is higher in the U. S. than in Europe. The four common venereal diseases included in the study are human papillomavirus (HPV), chlamydia, genital herpes and trichomoniasis. The study was conducted among girls aged 14-19.
Planned Parenthood Bilks $180 Million From California Taxpayers.
Planned Parenthood is a profit making company (with a “non-profit” attached) that gets the majority of its annual revenue by billing federal, state and local taxpayers for such things as birth control pills and abortions. Admittedly its structure is a cleverly convoluted but that’s the bottom-line. In California it’s facing a lawsuit brought by a fired executive who claims, according to the LA Times, it bilked those taxpayers out of $180-million. The former executive says the fraud started in 1990 and continued until at least 2004 and when he blew the whistle he was fired. Virginia has cut all funding to Planned Parenthood, and a federal judge in Mississippi has ordered its funding stopped because it violates that state’s constitution.
Dobson Endorses Huckabee
ALERT: Rev. James Dobson, head of the evangelical group Focus on the Family, is endorsing Mike Huckabee for President – himself a former Baptist minister – in part because McCain uses profanity.
Former sailor and POW McCain’s has a deserved reputation of using salty language and infamously telling fellow senators and others to perform anatomically impossible acts.
Dobson is if nothing else sanctimonious. For Dobson to be critical of McCain for this — after he famously and heroically served his country and suffered intolerable torture for years — while Dobson himself cowered as a draft-dodger and his own kids are on his payroll and who did not serve either is at best hypocrisy. By the way McCain’s son is serving in the Marines in Iraq.
