Jazz singer Rene Marie saying, as a black, she “just doesn’t feel American.” substituted the so-called “Black National Anthem” sung to the tune of the Star Spangled banner at Denver’s State of the City ceremonies on July 1^st. The Mayor, Council and attendees were stunned by her impudence, and more so when she confessed she’d been secretly planned it for weeks.

The Denver Post reported she had been interviewed by a Russian broadcaster who asked her what it was like to be American. “And I realized I didn’t feel like an American, and that bothered me a great deal,” the singer said. She said she feels like a foreigner sometimes. She also said she did not ask for permission feeling it was her right to artistic expression.

The self-styled “Black National Anthem” was written by James Johnson and first performed more than a century ago. It marked nearly four decades of freedom for blacks in America. It now still appears in some church hymnals as “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” The lyrics of the song are:

Ring with the harmonies of Liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise,
High as the list’ning skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.

Denver is the site of the Democrat National Convention in August where the first black will likely be the Democrat party nominee for President of the United States, and this incident punctuates a rising sense of racism about the November General election that is already polarized along racial lines.

That STAR-SPANGLED BANNER was written by an amateur poet Francis Scott Key in 1814 as he watched the British Navy bombard Fort McHenry in Chesapeake Bay during the War of 1812. It was originally titled “The Defense of Fort McHenry” and later set to the tune of a popular English drinking song. It became the U. S. national anthem by congressional resolution on March 3, 1931

Louisiana’s part-time lawmakers passed a pay raise for themselves, more than doubling their salary from $16,800 to $37,500 and the defecation has hit the impeller with thousands of angry letters and emails flooding into state offices, exposing several Legislators who are subjects of recall campaigns, and splattering Governor Bobby Jindal (R) from head to toe because he has resisted vetoing it.

Jindal, who ran partly on a “no pay raise” pledge, is being devastated and it could cost him his chance to be McCain VP designee as the political conflagration spreads over what some are calling his hypocrisy.

Senator Barack Obama’s new web venture “Fight the Smears” is an ostensible effort to combat some dark smear campaign he contends has been launched against him with truth. Turns out a key “smear” is itself a distortion and involved branding longtime political pundit Roger Stone a sleaze.

The Obama website says Stone said he had “credible evidence that some indelible record exists” of a tape of Michelle Obama using the term “whitey.” In fact the transcript from Geraldo Rivera, ‘GERALDO AT LARGE,’ on FOX shows what Stone said was “there’s a buzz, which I believe now to be credible, that some indelible record exists” of a tape of Michelle Obama using the term “whitey.” Stone point out he never used the expression “credible evidence.”

The Obama website attacks Stone saying, “Proven GOP sleazemeister Roger Stone says he has “credible evidence that some indelible record exists” of a tape of Michelle Obama using the term “whitey. ” Because the Obama website doesn’t include source citations it appears to be false and misleading, and this needs to be corrected and more attention paid to the truth if the venture is to be credible. Obama is almost certain to find himself issuing yet another of his patent disclaimers and pushing another hapless soul under the bus.

Barack Obama is again wrapped around the axle about poor judgment and hypocrisy over a personal involvement. This time it is Jim Johnson who received over $7 million in controversial loans from failed Countrywide Financial. Johnson is a Democrat operative and consummate Washington DC insider who is helping Obama pick a VP, and has been a volunteer fund raiser for Obama. Obama is scampering to distance himself from Johnson saying he can’t be expected to “vet the vetters”, and issued yet another bizarre rationalization for another smegma smudged surrogate.

Johnson was the campaign manager for Walter Mondale’s failed 1984 presidential bid and chaired the vice presidential selection process for the presidential campaign of John Kerry. Johnson is a well-known Washington DC power broker with connection to: Dayton-Hudson Corporation (now Target Corp.) He VP Mondale’s executive assistant in the Carter Administration and then founded and headed Public Strategies, a private consulting firm, from 1981 to 1985 before leaving for Lehman Brothers. He was chairman and chief executive officer of the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), he is a vice chairman of the private banking firm Perseus LLC, a position he has held since 2001. He is also a board member at Goldman Sachs, Gannett Company, Inc., a media holding group, KB Home, a home construction firm, Target Corporation, Temple-Inland, and UnitedHealth Group. His loans and very close relationship with Countrywide are being highly criticized as it has collapsed and was bargain sold to Bank of America.

Obama has consistently claimed he’d absolutely avoid lobbyists and insider Washington DC dealers. Doesn’t look like it.

Barack Obama joined Trinity Church for the same reason he has now resigned from it – political expediency. Wilson says in a letter mailed on behalf of GOP player Doug Ose, McClintock’s rival “As governor, I could never count on Tom McClintock.”… “He was always first to criticize, but the last to help the team. His record doesn’t match his rhetoric.”

Term limited uber conservative California Senator McClintock ran for Governor among over 130 others during the circus-like recall elections of then Governor Gray Davis and placed right behind winner Arnold Schwarzenegger but, also permanently bumped himself out of any serious run for higher office in California. So, McClintock - whose current seat is in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties - is “carpet bagging” to the far north to run for Congress in the north east corner of the state in what has turned into a real dust-up as Wilson’s letter reflects.

The 4^th District is one of the most conservative in all of ultra liberal California with Republicans holding a 5 to 3 margin in registered voters. The seat was help by Republican John Doolittle since 1991. He was Doolittle was a member of the group known as the Gang of Seven, which had a role in exposing the House banking scandal. Mormon Doolittle became entangled in the Jack Abramoff Indian lobbying scandal and his wife’s commissioned fund raising involvement and various lobbying issues. brought him down and he is not running for reelection opening the seat and current brouhaha.

Rajendra Pachauri, head of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, reluctantly admits that there has been no global warming so far In the 21st century.

Climate scientist Noel Keenlyside, leading a team from Germany’s Leibniz Institute of Marine Science and the Max Planck Institute of Meteorology, for the first time entered verifiable data on ocean circulation cycles into one of the U. N.’s climate supercomputers, and the machine spit out a projection that there will be no more warming for the foreseeable future.

Mr. Keenlyside– long a man-made global warming theory proponent — was quick to add that after 2015 (or perhaps 2020 or maybe 2030), warming would “resume” with a vengeance.

Almost no climate scientist who backed the alarmism ever expected warming would take anything like a 10 or 15-year hiatus.

Last year, in the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicted a 0.3-degree C rise in temperature in the coming decade — not a cooling or even just temperature stability. Its previous report in 2001 prominently displaced the so-called temperature “hockey stick” that purported to show temperature pretty much plateauing for the thousand years before 1900, then taking off in the 20^th Century in a smooth upward line. No 10-year dips backwards were foreseen.

It is drummed into us, ad nauseum, that the IPCC represents 2,500 scientists who together embrace a “consensus” that man-made global warming is a “scientific fact;” and as recently as last year, they didn’t see this cooling coming. So the alarmists can’t weasel out of this by claiming they said this cooling would occur. Baloney

Global temperatures have been falling for a decade. All of which means, that by 2015 or 2020, when warming is expected to resume, we will have had nearly 20 years of steady cooling.

Saints of the new climate religion, such as Global warming’s dashboard statue Al Gore, has stated that eight of the 10 years since 1998 are the warmest on record. Even if that were true, and it is not the trend of the past decade has been downward, not upward.

Last year, for instance, saw a drop in the global average temperature of nearly 0.7 degrees C (the largest single-year movement up or down since global temperature averages have been calculated). That’s despite advanced predictions that 2007 would be the warmest year on record, made by such UN associates as Britain’s Hadley Centre, a government climate research agency,

Neither the 3,000 temperature buoys that float throughout the world’s oceans nor the eight NASA satellites that float above our atmosphere have recorded appreciable warming in the past six to eight years. Even Rajendra Pachauri, the head of the IPCC, reluctantly admitted

Separation of church and state was really about separating religion from politics. Before mass media and the internet most Americans heard the news at church and then disseminated it to friends and neighbors. To have someone in a pulpit espouse an idea was tantamont to approval from on high.

The English tradition was originally a church inhabited by the nitwit siblings with less knowledge or ability than an alder brother, and virtually no theological training or even intent. The Puritans, as odd as they may have been, resisted mixing political ideology with what they saw as theology.

Now comes the personal resurrection campaign of Rev. Wright that has put a political expedient Barack Obama who used that church when it was convenient for his ambitions in a tight spot. Irrespective of the relative narcissism of that pair it underscores separation of the religious and the political.

Republicans and Hillary Clinton are giddy watching this brace of monumental egos make the other look hypocritical. Obama tossed Wright overboard Tuesday, and looks all the more duplicitous and disingenuous.
