Chicago is a war zone with 32 Shot, 2 Stabbed, and 6 Dead – last weekend. One incident involved a man with an AK-47 semi-automatic assault rifle in a shootout with police. Friday night two teens were gunned down in front of a church. Police helicopters routinely patrol so-called “hot zones” where gang infestation is worst. The greatest of the mostly ethnic gang provoked and inflamed by hate mongering and is largely on Chicago’s south side exceeding anything experienced during the mob violence of the Al Capone era. It is a St. Valentine’s Day massacre every weekend.target="_blank">

Symbionese Liberation Army Olson Back in Prison.
Sara Jane Olson, 61, is back in prison for at least another year having been rearrested after being released due to an inexplicable “clerical error” by the California Department of Corrections only discovered and admitted after harsh criticism. Olson was a member of the terrorist Symbionese Liberation Army (S.L.A.) that committed two murders, bank robberies, attempted other murders (including of a police officer), attempted bombings and other acts of violence between 1973 and 1975. The group of a dozen middle and upper class college-educated white youth, and a black male prison escapee adopting the slogan “Death to the fascist insect that preys upon the life of the people.”
The S.L.A. formed as a result of the prison visitation programs of the radical left-wing group Venceremos Organization and a group known as the Black Cultural Association in Soledad prison. The group murdered the Oakland School’s Superintendent in 1973 and badly wounded his deputy The hollow-point bullets used to kill Dr. Foster had been packed with cyanide. Thereafter the SLA kidnapped Hearst heiress Patty, supposedly “brainwashed” her and continued its mayhem.Olson was a fugitive for nearly 30-years living openly as a housewife under a new name in Minnesota. “Parole shouldn’t even be an option for terrorists who are convicted of murdering innocent bystanders and attempting to murder police officers,” said a police officer’s association spokesman. There is outrage over her mistaken release and that it was only corrected after media attention and sharp protests.
HOME SCHOOL OWN CHILD AND GO TO JAIL?
A California Appeals Court judge says parents who home school their own children but are not credentialed teachers (don’t have a State teaching certificate) could be sent to jail. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger called the ruling “outrageous” and said, “If the courts don’t protect parents’ rights then, as elected officials, we will.” Teacher Unions see the ruling as a victory for their monopoly on California’s miserable public education establishment. 50,000 to 100,000 California children are educated at home and the number is growing as public schools continue to under perform. This one is headed to the Supreme Court.
California spends more per student and gets less results than almost anyplace on earth. Plus, schools are among the most dangerous of places.

Syria’s Assad wants to cash in on the abundant conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of top terrorists Mughniyeh, who they now say, was killed in their capital last week by their Lebanese enemies as a pretext to attacking Lebanon. That will lead to actions against Israel using surrogates, and could be used as an excuse to attack U. S. interests. Director of US National Intelligence Mike McConnell’s assertion to Fox TV Sunday, Feb. 17, that, while Hezbollah is blaming Israel, “…there’s some evidence that it may have been internal Hezbollah. (The killing) may have been Syria. We don’t know yet, and we’re trying to sort that out.”
California Fuming, From Dime Bags to Billion Dollar Bags
California public employee unions have their collective underwear in a bunch over Governor Schwarzenegger’s proposed budget cuts to staunch the fiscal hemorrhaging and close a mammoth now $14.5 billion budget gap. For every seven dollars the state takes in it now spends over eight. The budget hole is three and one-half times the size of the $4 billion deficit that provoked then Governor Gray Davis’ recall resulting in the election of Schwarzenegger.
Conservatives are fuming that Schwarzenegger is talking about raising taxes and fees to bail out the state’s bureaucracy saying that will deepen and prolong the state’s coming recession. What is clear, as the officially projected deficit jumped half a billion dollars, is the usual hocus-pocus and slight-of-hand will no longer work.
Schwarzenegger made good on his promise to release as many as 50,000 prison inmates to save cash. Critics predict a wave of crimes will follow that will ultimately cost even more than any savings asking, “If these people aren’t a danger to society why were they imprisoned in the first place? Because some are a danger.”
